February update!

Just a quick update as it’s been a busy start to the year. Currently I’m finishing off a few projects over the next month including some commercial work for a studio in Ireland. It’s going mad out there, it seems everyone is animating! Great industry booming by the looks of it.

I’ll be back soon with posts the projects when I can show them, plus plans for the year ahead, maybe a peek at a personal project for a live action director I’m finishing up in the next few weeks too. For now, here’s a TV sketch made during a lull in Great Expectations (BBC…well done again!) I didn’t ever sketch watching Sherlock though, ’nuff said.

Fashion colour

Here’s a colour version of one of the previous sketches.

Chef + digital crayons=finished

Here’s all the chef piece coloured with background/foreground elements added in. I’m moving on to something else now as the shape changes in the animation are mainly down to tweening a looser keyframe animation (it looked cool when it was just keys, now it looks a bit wierd).

Software used: Flash (animation, character colouring, ruffs), Photoshop (background/foreground colouring),  After Effects (composite, masking, layering, colour correction)
